All talks take place in Bedale Hall on Tuesdays and start at 7.30 pm.

Michael will be taking us on an imaginary railway journey from Middlesbrough station to Redcar’s first station – which isn’t where you think it is – passing Redcar’s first hotel and stopping at all the disused and now lost stations. There will be tales of a public house that once had the reputation of ruining many a relationship and marriage, a train crash and two incidents that took place during WWII.

An introduction to the most easily accessible resources available to help you to uncover more about your family history, using examples connected to Bedale. It is easy to assume that everything is online and available at the click of a button but a methodical approach is required to ensure you are tracing your ancestors and not those of someone with a similar name.
